Oberon is 1200 metres above sea level and is regarded as the ideal cold
climate country, perfect for British breed varieties of meat producing
sheep. Rich basalt soil and high rainfall levels produce lush green pastures,
allowing the finishing of livestock all year round. Stock drinks from
natural occurring spring water.
Currently 300 acres of lucerne is being sown on the rich river flats.
